About

Chris Brown is a founding member of Red State Strategies and a veteran Republican political strategist with almost three decades of experience building winning campaigns across Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, and Mississippi. He is widely respected for his strategic insight, operational leadership, and proven ability to deliver results at the state and local levels.
Chris began his career in 1997 with the Republican Party of Florida as House Liaison, where he coordinated Republican campaigns for all 120 Florida House seats. His responsibilities included candidate recruitment, fundraising strategy, and statewide voter contact programs. During his tenure, the Republican majority in the Florida House grew from 61 to 75 seats, reflecting a dramatic expansion of the party’s legislative strength.

In March of 2000, Chris joined Tidewater Consulting in Tallahassee, where he worked on several key legislative races, helping secure victories for Jeff Atwater, Don Davis, Andy Gardiner, and Jerry Paul.
In early 2001, he returned to the Republican Party of Florida as Political Liaison overseeing opposition research for all statewide offices, managing the party’s voter file, and organizing statewide voter contact programs. His work contributed to the historic 2002 election cycle, the most successful in Florida Republican history, when the party swept every statewide office, including the re-election of Governor Jeb Bush.
In July 2003, Chris was hired as Executive Director of the Alabama Republican Party, where he led all Republican political operations during the 2004 election cycle. That election resulted in a Republican sweep of all statewide offices and the election of 30 new Republicans at the county level. In early 2005, he also played a key role in a major upset victory when Nick Williams was elected to the Alabama State House in a long-held Democratic seat in Southwest Alabama.

From 2005 to 2012, Chris owned and operated Southern Insights in Birmingham, Alabama, helping elect Republicans across the state. His clients included Attorney General Troy King, Senators Scott Beason, Trip Pittman, Ben Brooks, and Clay Scofield, and Representatives Jim Carns, Arthur Payne, April Weaver, and Paul DeMarco.

Chris has remained deeply involved in party leadership and grassroots development. He currently serves as Chairman of Congressional District 6 for the Alabama Republican Party and previously served as Chairman and Treasurer of the Jefferson County Republican Party, Chairman of the Young Republican Federation of Alabama, and Chairman of the Greater Birmingham Young Republicans. From November 2006 to June 2007, he served as Southern Political Director for John McCain for President.
Chris has represented Alabama as a delegate to multiple Republican National Conventions, including the 2008 Convention in Minneapolis, where he served on the Credentials Committee, and the 2012 Convention in Tampa, where he served on the Rules Committee. In 2024, he was honored to serve as a member of the Electoral College for the State of Alabama.

A graduate of Florida State University in Tallahassee, Chris lives in Cahaba Heights, Alabama, and is the proud father of one son.
